Spirit of Atlanta, Inc., a 501(c)(3) youth and young adult development and performing arts organization, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter.

For more than 50 years, Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps has been a proud member of Drum Corps International (DCI), providing young performers with experiences that develop character, leadership, discipline, and lifelong excellence
.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors
, the Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization and serve as Spirit of Atlanta's primary representative within DCI and the greater Atlanta arts and nonprofit communities. The Corps Director will report directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute Spirit of Atlanta's strategic vision and organizational goals.
  • Partner with the Corps Director to deliver a safe, positive, and world-class member experience.
  • Build and lead a strong culture focused on safety, accountability, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Serve as the primary organizational contact with Drum Corps International.
  • Lead fundraising, donor development, sponsor ships, grants, and other revenue opportunities.
  • Oversee organizational finances, budgeting, contracts, vendors, and operational performance.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead staff and volunteers.
  • Build partnerships throughout Atlanta's arts, educational, nonprofit, and business communities.
  • Ensure appropriate policies, procedures, legal compliance, and risk management practices are maintained.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree a plus.
  • 5–7+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Nonprofit, performing arts, youth development, or marching arts experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated fundraising and budget management experience.
  • Strong people leadership, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience managing staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partnerships.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends, and portions of the summer touring season.
  • Metro Atlanta candidates preferred; candidates willing to relocate will be considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Compensation

$70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience.

  • Paid holidays and vacation are provided; no additional employee benefits are currently offered.
