Vincent de Paul Georgia (SVdP GA) envisions a more just and compassionate Georgia, where every neighbor lives with dignity and opportunity. With a core focus on preventing homelessness, fighting hunger, and improving health, our programs include rental and utility assistance, food recovery and distribution, and prescription fulfillment through an onsite pharmacy.

Services are provided through the headquarters’ (Council) facility in Chamblee, GA, 76 Conferences (parish-based chapters) throughout the state, and 9 Thrift Stores. The Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager plays an integral role during a time of exponential growth cent de Paul Georgia. As a front-facing ambassador of SVdP, the Manager is an effective communicator and organizer, recruiting and assigning individual volunteers and corporate groups seeking engagement with our mission. St. Vincent de Paul relies on about 30 volunteers each day, recruited through online systems and partnership with Hands-On Atlanta.

Additionally, community and corporate groups engage in special projects to support food, thrift, housing and wellness initiatives.

The Manager procures volunteers to facilitate daily operation of the Client Choice Food Market, Rosalie’s Day Center, Family Support Center and Community Pharmacy. Additionally, the Manager designs custom projects to match the desires of volunteers with the needs of our mission. This is an on-site role, based in SVdP’s Chamblee Support Center.

• Work collaboratively with each department lead to define daily volunteer needs and roles
• Organize and maintain a system for volunteer recruitment and training
• Develop effective written and verbal communications to ensure volunteers have received mission-focused messaging and a clear, high-level understanding of the SVdP mission to serve neighbors in need with dignity and respect
• Direct volunteers to their posts with clear instructions for what to do next
• Draft and deliver volunteer hours verification documents as needed and requested
• Respond to questions, requests and special needs of all volunteers, serving as the main point of contact for all volunteers

• Serve as the point person for Hands On Atlanta, AARP, Reemployability and any other volunteer resource or procurement tool.
• Secure MOUs, written agreements in accordance with SVdP needs and approved processes

• Work with department leads in Family Support Center, Rosalie’s Day Center, Community Pharmacy, and Client Choice Food Market to understand departmental needs and processes. Define a shared plan and protocol for handing off volunteers to department point-persons for program-specific training.
• Create systems and protocols to streamline processes, eliminate confusion and optimize efficiencies
• Define roles and processes for Vincentian (Chapter-based) members to participate in on-site Council-based programs

• Keep accurate records of volunteer requests, placements and hours served
• Work with Data Analytics department to assess the effectiveness of our current volunteer recruitment tools and options to improve recruiting and retention

• Work with Leadership, Development and Programs teams to craft volunteer opportunities that serve to educate and engage in the mission and advocate for our neighbors in need.

• Collaborate with the SVdP Development team in crafting projects for corporate groups, ensuring our clear understanding of the corporation’s goals for volunteering and engagement
