Atlanta Track Club is a nonprofit committed to creating an active and healthy Atlanta. Through running and walking, Atlanta Track Club motivates, inspires and engages the community to enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

In addition to the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race – the world’s largest road race 10K road race unning nt in the world, the Northside Hospital Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race, the Atlanta Marathon, PNC Atlanta 10 Miler and Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, Atlanta Track Club directs more than 30 events per year.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Associate Director – Foundation, the Foundation Intern plays a hands‑on role supporting Atlanta Track Club's Foundation's fundraising and donor engagement efforts across the organization's signature giving programs, including an annual campaign and charity fundraising. This internship offers direct, practical exposure to nonprofit fundraising operations, donor relations and CRM data management within one of the largest running organizations in the country.

The intern will work closely with fundraising participants, sponsors, vendors and silent auction donors, gaining a well‑rounded view of how a nonprofit foundation builds and sustains donor relationships. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable managing donor‑facing communications, and motivated by the opportunity to build foundational experience in nonprofit development while supporting a mission‑driven organization. This position requires flexibility to support fundraising events and donor engagement activities outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities Include
  • Support the Foundation's core fundraising initiatives – including the annual campaign, the Atlanta Marathon and the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race charity programs – by assisting with campaign logistics, materials and donor outreach.
  • Communicate directly with fundraising (charity) participants throughout their campaigns, providing guidance, materials and support to help them reach their fundraising goals.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for event vendors, partners and silent auction donors, managing timely and professional correspondence on behalf of the Foundation.
  • Draft, edit and prepare donor acknowledgment and thank‑you letters, ensuring accurate, on‑brand and timely donor recognition.
  • Maintain accurate donor and gift records through data entry and day‑to‑day administration of the Foundation's CRM platform.
  • Support coordination of charity programs, including tracking participant fundraising progress and assisting with related communication touchpoints.
  • Assist with on‑site logistics for Foundation‑related fundraising events, including load‑in and load‑out support as needed.
  • Provide general administrative and communications support to the Foundation team as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree with a demonstrated passion for philanthropic and nonprofit work.
  • Familiarity with the running and fitness community preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of fundraising and nonprofit development, ideally within the sports or endurance events industry.
