Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular​/CVOR

Position: Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a cardiovascular OR travel assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and on-call availability.

Job Details

• Work setting is a hospital CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room),

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (9:00-21:00),

• 1:1 patient ratio,

• On-call required, typically one weekday/call per week and one weekend call every 5-6 weeks,

• Weekend rotation required; details to be discussed during interview,

• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed,

• EMR:
Epic (required),

• Cardiovascular procedures include CABG, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, and aortic aneurysm repair,

• Thoracic procedures include lobe resection, thoracotomy, and VATS,

• Vascular procedures include AAA repair, AV fistula repair, carotid angioplasty/stenting/endarterectomy, and femoral popliteal bypass graft,

• Heart transplant experience is preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required,

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Cardiovascular scrubbing experience required; thoracic and vascular scrubbing experience preferred,

• Teaching hospital experience preferred,

• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred,

• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration,

• Must not have worked at any facility within this health system within the past full year,

• RTO is capped at a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment,

• Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them and one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval,

• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day,

• No alternate shift or schedule requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm,

• Candidates who previously worked at any facility within this health system must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler,
