Job Summary The OR Team Leader is responsible for overseeing patient care within assigned service lines, utilizing the nursing process. This role requires clinical expertise and strong coordination skills to manage designated service lines effectively. The Team Leader ensures 24/7 coverage by serving as a resource and designating an alternate Team Leader when absent. Responsibilities include collaboration with nursing staff, Certified Surgical Technologists, and acting as a liaison with physicians, anesthesia, clinics, and other stakeholders as needed.
The position manages clinical operations, equipment, instruments, supplies, repairs, regulatory compliance, audits, staff training, and other duties as directed by the Clinical Staff Nurse Manager and OR Nursing Director. The role involves approximately 80% direct engagement in Operating Rooms (OR) and 20% administrative responsibilities.
A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required
A Bachelors of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred
One (2) or more years experience as a Registered Nurse required
Specific area of specialty previous experience preferred
Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) health care provider card required
ACLS Certification required for all the following areas. New Graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment :
All Critical Care Emergency Care Center (ECC)
GI/Cath Laboratory Labor & Delivery All Intermediate Care Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
