Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department, Cobb Hospital (Full‑time, Evening shift: 3 pm - 3 am). Sign‑on bonus available.
The RN Clinical Nurse works as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary care team. The role involves delivering individualized, evidence‑based nursing care in line with the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and state nursing regulations.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking.
- Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects cultural diversity and specific population needs.
- Partner with patients and significant others for setting goals, conducting bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely patient teaching.
- Practice current clinical standards and maintain accurate documentation in a safe, inclusive environment.
- Coordinate safe, quality patient care and promote professional delivery through inclusive interdisciplinary communication.
- Demonstrate teamwork, fiscal responsibility, and promote recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
- Complete initial and ongoing competency assessments, mandatory and population‑specific education.
- Serve as preceptor or mentor for nurses, staff, and students across disciplines.
- Promote evidence‑based practice and nursing research, including value analysis for patient care products.
- Uphold all system policies, regulatory, accreditation, and legal standards (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals).
- Collect data, pose clinical questions, consult experts, and utilize evidence to address practice questions.
- Plan patient care across the continuum during direct care duties.
- Develop protocols and procedures in collaboration with the care team to achieve best‑practice outcomes.
- Support efficient use of human and material resources.
- Perform additional duties as assigned; comply with all Wellstar policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Associate degree in Nursing or Diploma (RN);
Bachelor’s in Nursing is preferred.
- BLS, ARC‑BLS, or BLS‑I.
- RN – Registered Nurse (single state) or RN‑COMPACT (multi‑state).
- PALS, ARC‑PALS, PALS‑I, or PALS‑P (within 180 days).
- TNCC, ATCN‑C, or TNCC‑P (within 18 months).
- ACLS, ACLS‑P, ACLS‑I, or ARC‑ALS (within 90 days).
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience.
- English language literacy (reading, writing, speaking); basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment, respond decisively to emergencies, and maintain composure.
- Excellent time‑management and analytical thinking; proficiency in evidence‑based nursing practice.
