Full‑time Day (United States of America).
The nurse manager is a registered professional nurse who provides leadership and management of a specific unit(s) or service through the effective use of knowledge and skills to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and for achievement of clinical and business outcomes. The nurse manager serves as the standard bearer on the unit, holds participants accountable for care delivery, and utilizes effective communication, observation, and measurement of interventions and outcomes.
Responsibilities include managing clinical, financial, human, and material resources and ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Resources and Support:
- Engages staff in decision making via shared governance processes and partners with others to promote relationship‑based care delivery systems that support patient‑centered care and service excellence; provides leadership for a specific unit(s) and possesses negotiation and mediation skills.
- Serves as the unit/program’s chief retention and safety officer, managing talent and carefully deploying human and material resources.
- Analyzes and manages financial resources; uses lean and other quality skills to reduce waste and improve performance of operations and clinical systems; integrates marketing and communication strategies to advance the service line and organization as a whole.
- Interdisciplinary Teamwork and
Collaboration:- Effectively communicates to diverse audiences on nursing, health‑care, and organizational issues, sets standards, and holds leaders and staff accountable for performance standards.
- Proactively establishes a healthy workplace by reducing or resolving unnecessary conflict (partnering with Human Resources when needed) and promotes positive team dynamics.
- Establishes partnerships with staff, departments, and medical staff, striving to understand others and ensuring fair, reflective practice skills.
- Creates opportunities for self and leaders/staff to grow professionally and implements a desirable workplace to recruit and retain talent.

- Promotes staff competency in clinical care delivery.
- Holds self and staff to the highest professional standards and ethics, ensuring corporate compliance standards; serves as a role model, possesses hiring skills, supports effective orientation and onboarding of new staff, and advances the field through transformational leadership and scholarly activity.
- Successfully employs change‑management strategies and fosters curiosity to explore new knowledge and ideas, while respecting a varied and diverse leadership team and workforce.

- Evidence‑Based Practice and Research:
- Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participates in value analysis for evaluating patient‑care products.
- Identifies areas of risk and proactively ensures compliance and safety standards, including licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Applies data and evidence to support clinical and operational decision making and demonstrates awareness of legal and ethical issues concerning patient and staff data.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required;
Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact).
- BLS – Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor.
