Serves as a prescription medication bridging program team lead.
Pill Pass and Facility Medication Management
Pill Pass or other operational roles dependent on staffing needs
Medication cart assignments - review and rebalance for even distribution
Prepares for pharmacy inspection
Emergency Jump Bag - inventory management and replenishment team lead
Collaborates with Pharmacy Nurse Team and other healthcare team members to implement a plan of care and education to maintain health and prevent complications.
Ensures seamless continuity of operations
Coordinates schedules to provide daily Pharmacy Nurse Team Lead coverage
Pharmacy and Medical Supplies Inventory Operations
Provides procurement, cart restocking and inventory management
Procurement and Inventory Management for Controlled Substances and Sharps
Works directly under the ordering physician and facility nursing leadership
Monitors and maintains compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
Provides staff education
Assists in the development and implementation of new processes.
Maintains necessary clinical records, collects data and prepares reports on activities.
Attends mandatory training sessions, education and staff meetings as needed.
Serves as a member of the pharmacy quality improvement subcommittee.
Performs other duties as assigned to support FCH’s goals, objectives and values.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and CompetenciesKnowledge and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals and providing prescription medications.
Ability to provide proper patient care and adhere to protocols.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment.

RequirementsMinimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing
At least one (1) or more years of progressively responsible nursing experience
Required Certifications and LicensesMust have and maintain a current LPN licensure within the State of Georgia
Must have or attain a BLS Certification prior to the first day of employment
Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a correctional facility

Physical RequirementsThe position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds with prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting at a desk, viewing a computer and reading a variety of materials. Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with your hands. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, such as typing for extended periods of time.
