Job Summary
The Advanced Clinical Nurse Educator creates, manages, and evaluates education/training programs and services, develops related goals and objectives, recommends policies, and evaluates program outcomes. All educational offerings provided by the Advanced Clinical Nurse Educator should primarily be based on the Cognitive, Humanist, and/or Brain-Based Learning Theories. The role may include direct patient/family care, consultation, change agent, teaching/coaching/mentoring, research, patient advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development.
Responsibilities- Provides education and guidance to staff in order to enhance the care of patients and families and to advance the practice of nursing.
- Provides leadership for continuous performance improvement and facilitates clinical decision making through ongoing monitoring of patient outcome indicators.
- Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and/or regulations required to maintain a department's programs of services.
- Serves as a role model of excellence in nursing knowledge, professionalism, and clinical practice.
- Provides clinical leadership, serves as a resource for the translation of skills and knowledge into clinical practice by creating educational activities that recognize differences in learning styles and accommodate the unique challenges of adult learners.
- Provides consultation to staff nurses and interprofessional colleagues, utilizing advanced nursing expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to optimize clinical outcomes.
- Interacts directly with patients and families to improve patient outcomes.
- Participates in data collection, reporting, and evaluation related to quality outcomes, orientation and onboarding goals within the education/professional development department.
- Provides clinical leadership for all staff members by upholding underlying principles outlined in the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Promotes and reflects the values outlined in the ANA Nursing Code of Ethics.
- Adheres to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Practices in a manner that supports a critical thinking framework.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree required, MSN preferred.
- 4+ years of Clinical Nursing experience;
Women's Health experience preferred. - NRP required.
- ACLS required.
- BLS required.
- GA RN License required.
