Position: Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and an active GA or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Hospital-based CVOR setting with a focus on cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases,

• Preferred experience in transplant and robotic thoracic procedures,

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM),

• Weekend schedule is Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday,

• On-call requirements are subject to change based on departmental needs,

• Floating within scope of practice, including to the Main OR as needed,

• Local candidates are accepted,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or compact) required,

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR or cardiovascular OR experience required,

• Certifications must be current and copies provided for consideration,

• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week,

• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO,

• If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, and one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval,

• Major holidays include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as
1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as
1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as
1),

• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler,

• No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted; the posted shift is firm,

• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit,

• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is needed on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
