Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Float

Job Shift

Night shift (United States of America)

Responsibilities
  • Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence‑based practice.
  • Ensures individualized care through effective partnerships and acknowledges that caring is central to optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care accommodating cultural diversity.
  • Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate communication methods (bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching).
  • Promotes teamwork and collaboration, coordinating safe, quality patient care and documentation.
  • Participates in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance.
  • Engages in evidence‑based practice and nursing research activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
  • Preferred: RN – Multi‑state Compact certification.
Education and Certification Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN), from an accredited school.
  • Required Licensure:
    Licensed RN (single state) and RN – Multi‑state Compact.
  • Required

    Certifications:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) – Instructor and BLS – Provisional.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, regulations, and practices.
  • Assessment, examination, and treatment techniques.
  • Problem identification and recommended solutions.
  • Record keeping for medication and treatment.
  • Efficient execution of duties and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Calm, competent response in emergency situations.
  • Clear communication – verbal, written, and phone.
  • Judgment in dealing with patients and staff.
  • Teaching skills at all patient levels.
  • Processing large volumes of patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Additional Clinical Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of cardiac anatomy, conditions, and treatment modalities.
