We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Step Down Unit team. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong critical care skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to med-surg or general units.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education and support throughout the recovery process.
- Document all care provided in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in the unit.
- Active and unrestricted RN license.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a Step Down, ICU, or Telemetry unit.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high-acuity environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in a Step Down or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) – preferred.
