Position: (RN) Patient Flow Coordinator/Transfer Center 2 - PRN

Position Overview

Bed Placement Coordinator (PRN). This role assesses, determines, and coordinates the placement of all admissions (elective and emergent) and transfers in accordance with clinical standards and guidelines. The position requires variable shifts (7AM‑7PM, 10AM‑10PM, 11AM‑11PM) with a minimum of four shifts per six weeks; some weekends may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient placement activities via the Transfer Center to optimize patient flow, patient outcomes, admission appropriateness and cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain assigned databases and collaborate in the collection of data to identify and resolve flow issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret outcome data to identify problem areas and support changes in systemwide processes in relation to the Transfer Center.
  • Prepare periodic reports as directed.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives that impact patient flow and support continuous performance and quality improvement.
  • Serve as an expert clinical resource for patient placement, ensuring smooth functioning of Transfer Center processes to reduce wait times and avoid unnecessary patient movements.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate excellent customer‑service skills in interactions with physicians and other internal and external customers.
  • Supervise Bed Placement Coordinator and empower team members by fostering professional development and problem‑solving.
  • Assist with Transfer Center hiring process, orientation and continuing education of peers.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    minimum 5years in nursing, 2years in critical care with advanced clinical assessment skills.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing, experience in progressive leadership and training as a house supervisor, previous PICU or ED experience.
  • Preferred technical skills:
    Epic, Microsoft Teams, Cisco, and Red Cap.
  • Preferred education:

    accredited nursing school, Bachelor of Science in nursing.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or a multi‑state license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90days of employment.
  • Must be able to pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher within 30days of employment.
