CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONER - INTERNAL MEDICINE

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our team! We are a highly reputable, small internal medicine practice, that sees primary care type patients, aged 15+. Our lead physician trained at a world-renowned medical school and enjoys a patient list that includes many physicians themselves!

This position functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
• Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
• Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
• Diagnoses and treats acute infections, injuries and illnesses
• Conducts and orders diagnostic tests to be conducted on your behalf, such as x-rays and electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Records and examines the medical history, diagnoses, and symptoms of a patient
• Talks to patients about effectively managing their health, as well as assisting in designing appropriate treatment plans and recommending further care
• Provides care and guidance to patients when it comes to taking medication, as well as potential side effects and interactions with current medications

• Responsible for accessing and ordering appropriate tests for the patient, with physician consultation, if necessary.
• Review patient labs/testing results and assist Dr. with messages, labs as needed.
• Handle prescription refill requests for routine medications.
• See patients for preventative care visits as well as sick visits.

A normal case load is 10-18 patients per day (occasionally more due to absence) but not usually more than 21 in a day.

There are no required after-hours calls, as those are done by the physicians.

No regular weekend hours seeing patients, only occasional time to review labs or otherwise catch up based on business needs and time of year. This extra time will be factored into pay rate.

This position is eligible for a year-end bonus pool across providers as well as a full benefits package, plus 401(k) with match after one year.
