Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room

TNAA Total Med RN is seeking an Operating Room (OR) RN Travel Nurse for a 13‑week assignment in Atlanta, Georgia.

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education.
• Provide basic bedside care and administer prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
• Ensure that the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
• Respond to comfort and safety needs of patients (circulating OR nurses).
• Accurately handle specimens (circulating OR nurses).
• Monitor equipment used during surgery (circulating OR nurses).
• Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure (circulating OR nurses).
• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures (scrub OR nurses).
• Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure (scrub OR nurses).
• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care, controlling bleeding, and suturing patients (RN first assistants).
• Stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for long periods. Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds when required.
• Accept potential hazards from exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room environment.

• ACLS and BLS certification.
• 2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
