Position: Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,023 per week

TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR – Operating Room for a travel nursing assignment in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Pay: 12‑hour shifts, tax‑free stipend (amount to be determined)
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education.
  • Perform basic bedside care.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions.
  • Serve as communication liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
  • Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
  • Initiate patient education plans as prescribed; teach patients and families medication and home‑care management.
  • For Circulating OR Nurses: respond to comfort and safety needs; accurate specimen handling; monitor surgical equipment; inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
  • For Scrub OR Nurses: select and handle surgical instruments and supplies; inventory items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
  • For RN First Assistant: assist physicians with direct surgical care, control bleeding, suture patients following surgery.
Requirements
  • ACLS and BLS certification; 1–2 years recent acute‑care experience as a circulating or scrub RN, and/or RN first assistant.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop without difficulty.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds for patient handling.
  • Physical demand: exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.
  • Additional certifications may be required before assignment start.
