As a Public Health LPN 2 or 3 within the Clay County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

This position will be housed in the Clay County Health Department and will travel between the Quitman County Health Department and the Randolph County Health Department to provide nursing as directed. This is Not a Remote position. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Clinical and laboratory management to include ordering, collecting, recording, shipping, and managing labs..
  • Monitor and records temperatures daily, accesses patient immunization record and GRITS, administers immunizations, and prints immunization records.
  • Will manage inventory, collect, record and report patient's vital signs.
  • Place and read Tuberculin Skin Tests (TST's), perform hearing, vision, and dental screenings,
  • Provide Directly Observed Therapy (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). appropriate TB patients.
  • Will participate with health fairs and community outreach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Public Health LPN 2 - (Hire-in salary - $35,387.99) Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and two (2) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 1 (HCT
110) or position equivalent. Public Health LPN 3 - (Hire-in salary - $38,926.79) Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and four (4) years of LPN public health experience and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level PH LPN 2 (HCT
111) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

At least four (4) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Public Health experience.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
