Job Summary

The Registered Nurse, provides age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, educates patients and their families about healthy practices and treatment modalities, assures continuity of care, coordinates care across settings and among caregivers, manages information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and plan care (i.e. assessment, nurse diagnosis, planning and coordination, implementation, and evaluation).

Additional roles include advocacy, performance improvement, leadership, problem solving, delegation, conflict resolution, and team player.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required
  • A Bachelors of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred
  • One (1) or more years experience as a Registered Nurse required
Specific Area Of Specialty Previous Experience Preferred
  • Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) health care provider card required

ACLS Certification required for all the following areas. New Graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment :

  • All Critical Care
  • Emergency Care Center (ECC)
  • GI/Cath Laboratory
  • Labor & Delivery
  • All Intermediate Care
  • Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
Clinical Care & Coordination
  • Facilitating patient navigation for complex orthopedic injuries and postoperative recovery.
  • Supporting in-clinic procedures, including wide-awake hand surgery once operationalized.
  • Managing clinical orders, imaging coordination, and follow-up planning.
  • Triaging postoperative concerns to ensure timely intervention and reduce unnecessary ED utilization.
  • Providing simple medication refills within established protocols.
  • Provides education for Bone Health patients, facilitates level 1 nurse visits for triaged wound care concerns for post-discharge/post-operative patients prior to their regularly scheduled post-operative visit.
Operational Efficiency
  • Verifying medication accuracy and dose, confirming compatibility, mix medications based on state licensing compliance, and performing final safety checks
  • Maintaining and processing administrative paperwork, including FMLA, disability forms, work notes, and surgical clearances.
  • Standardizing communication pathways between patients, surgeons, APPs, and ancillary services.
  • Reducing provider burden by assuming clinical tasks that currently interrupt workflow and extend visit times.
Quality & Safety
  • Ensuring consistent patient education, postoperative instructions, and monitoring.
  • Supporting orthopedic patients who require specialized, longitudinal coordination.
  • Enhancing safety and throughput for office-based procedures.
The Team Member Will Work Collaboratively To
  • Provide comprehensive clinical support for a combined 49 + attending and advanced practice providers.
  • Contribute to the team coordinating care for more than 30,000 annual patient encounters.
  • Contribute to the team supporting approximately 700+ procedures annually once implemented.
  • Improve patient safety, provider efficiency, and overall clinic operations.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for triage, procedures, administrative coordination, and continuity of care.
