Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an advanced practice provider to join our busy Vascular Neurosurgical practice on our Piedmont Atlanta campus. This is a full-time position working with a team of 3 neurosurgeons, 2 APPs and 2 Interventional Neurology Fellows.
In this role you will be on the front line of interventional stroke care and cranial neurosurgery for one of the largest Healthcare systems in Georgia. This position provides opportunity for additional training and professional growth. The work is fast paced with attention to superior care delivery. This is a team environment for each member contributes to provide great patient outcomes.
Team members are encouraged to participate in national conferences, research projects, and professional training.
Day-to-day duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with hospital rounds, and surgical support.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in patients medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
- Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
- Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise.
- Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
- Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
- Assist with postoperative hospital and clinic patients.
- First call for practice patients on occasion to support the service.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of Neurosurgical experience with a high degree of clinical judgment
Minimum Qualifications
Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification
