Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse
Grant-Mill Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Atlanta. This opportunity is best suited for a confident PACU nurse with recent experience caring for higher-acuity patients following complex surgical procedures.
Assignment Details
- Weekly compensation:
Up to $2,258 per week - Contract length: 13 weeks
- Assignment dates:
August 16–November 13, 2026 - Schedule:
Three 12-hour night shifts - Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend availability:
Required - Department: PACU Ground Floor

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery
- Identify changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
- Manage airways, pain, nausea and other postoperative concerns
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses and support staff
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Provide safe handoffs and patient education throughout the recovery process
- Follow hospital policies, clinical standards and patient-safety procedures
PACU Environment
The PACU operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and supports patients recovering from a broad range of surgical procedures. The selected nurse should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, higher-acuity recovery environment. Cases may include:
Thoracic surgery, Orthopedic surgery, Neurological surgery, Vascular surgery, Urology procedures, General surgery, Other complex, higher-acuity cases. The unit is supported by a charge nurse and supervisor. Holiday call coverage may be required.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of recent PACU experience
- Current RN license eligible for practice in Georgia
- Current AHA Basic Life Support certification
- Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Experience caring for higher-acuity postoperative patients
- Cerner experience
- Ability to work 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts, including weekends
- Ability to begin the assignment on August 16, 2026
- Must reside more than 50 miles from Atlanta
