American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic case exposure.
Details- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital environment
- Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 10:30 to 21:00
- Variable weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
- Variable call requirements to be discussed during interview
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
- Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic surgical procedures
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills required across Gynecology (abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, laparoscopic procedures), Neurology (ALIF, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF), General Surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, Whipple), and Orthopedics (arthroscopy, closed/open reduction of fractures, laminectomy/discectomy, total joint replacement)
- Experience in Transplant work settings including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas preferred
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- No holiday RTO will be approved during blackout dates of 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
- Holiday RTO policy allows for one holiday request only if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, otherwise no holiday RTO can be requested
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates with prior employment at this health system must be away from all of its facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Full compliance required to start on time, as non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation schedules
- Clinical screening required to determine fit, with candidates reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- No schedule requests or alternate shifts will be accommodated
