American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN and Orthopedic case exposure.
Details- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN and Orthopedics
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:00
- 16-week assignment length
- Variable weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
- Variable call requirements to be discussed during interview
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
- Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic OR cases
- Experience with procedures including craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, ALIF, XLIF, and kyphoplasty
- Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and thyroidectomy
- Experience with GYN procedures including hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, and D&C
- Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and open/closed fracture reduction
- Transplant experience required including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas cases
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- No holiday RTO approved if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment
- One holiday RTO may be considered if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Blackout dates for RTO include 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
- Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
- Full compliance required to start on time, as delays may push start date back by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by the facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
