Description

The Procedural Service Line Coordinator is responsible for the overall daily operations of the assigned service line and for communicating with surgeons/proceduralists that fall under the service line specialty.

  • Coordinates daily operations, staffing, and case flow and manages inventory, instruments, supplies, and equipment for selected service line surgeons/proceduralists.
  • Actively involved with assisting, educating, and ensuring nursing quality measures are achieved and maintained in the procedural environment.
  • Proactively communicates with surgeons, proceduralists, vendors, supporting staff, and leadership to keep everyone updated on case schedule and flow.
  • Participates in the growth of the service line by improving efficiency and standards of the assigned service line and is responsible for fostering relations and building rapport with physicians to ensure continued utilization of the service line specialty.
  • Functions as the communications link between physicians, office personnel, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, and patients and their families.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards for responsive service and professional documentation, and for maintaining current and accurate policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Supports the Nurse Manager and other nursing leadership teams with administrative duties; actively participates in preparation of regulatory agency reviews, identifies means of cost containment, coordinates unit staffing schedules, and ensures communication regarding areas of concern to the Nurse Manager; facilitates daily operational issues with the staff. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduates of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, or an associate’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in a procedural area and a minimum of 6 months of experience in the service line.
  • Must hold a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional specialty certifications may be required.

Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, is required. Environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.
