DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring GA or compact RN licensure and prior cardiovascular surgical experience.
Details- Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) supporting vascular, cardiovascular, and thoracic surgical procedures
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Variable call requirements, typically one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 5-6 weeks
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Epic charting system experience required
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and/or Level II experience preferred
- Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, AV fistula repair, carotid angioplasty/stenting, carotid endarterectomy, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
- Experience with cardiovascular procedures including aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, IABP, MAZE procedure, and mitral valve replacement
- Experience with TAVR and VAD (LVAD/RVAD) preferred
- Thoracic surgery experience including lobe resection, thoracotomy, and VATS preferred
- Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
- Provide surgical support across vascular, cardiovascular, and thoracic procedures within the CVOR
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
- No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Holiday coverage expectations apply: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Full compliance required by start date, as delays may result in a two-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Returning travelers who were cancelled or issued a DNR must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
