- Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned inpatient dialysis patients
- Perform assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation before, during, and after treatment
- Adjust or modify treatment plans and notify supervisors, physicians, primary nurses, and other appropriate personnel
- Assess and provide ongoing education to patients and families
- Recognize abnormal patient status and collaborate with appropriate health team members
- Direct and provide safe patient care for modality‑specific treatment procedures
- Assess daily patient care needs and collaborate with direct and ancillary care staff
- Coordinate communication with FKC and non‑FKC dialysis providers and contracted facility personnel
- Implement, administer, monitor, and document intradialytic transfusions and adverse reactions
- Administer medications and document medical justification and effectiveness
- Initiate and assist with emergency response measures
- Serve as a resource, leader, coach, mentor, and role model for employees
- Provide specialized nursing care instructions to hospital/facility staff when required
- Assist in an outpatient facility as needed
- Serve as a preceptor to new employees
- Complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance
- Travel to training/meeting sites and between assigned facilities
- Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in all states employed
- Minimum 2 years or more of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as a RN
- Acute dialysis experience preferred
- Successful completion of all FKC education and modality specific training requirements for designated Nurse in Charge
- 6 months experience in acute dialysis as a RN for designated Nurse in Charge
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, move patients, assist with ambulation, bend over, and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to move machines and equipment up to 200 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
- Participation in on‑call rotation, night, weekend, and holiday coverage as required
- Required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
Demonstrates expertise in providing clinically competent care for inpatient dialysis patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and patient education. Possesses strong leadership skills to mentor and guide staff while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
