This position requires collaborating with physicians, other medical providers, and patients by providing nurse case management services for fertility treatments.
We have an opening for a full-time Andrology Lab Technician to join our team in our Sandy Springs, GA location. The schedule is daytime hours Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotations.
Responsibilities- Shipping, receiving and disposition of frozen samples
- Ordering and receiving lab supplies
- Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis
- Perform counts for concentration and motility, perform histological techniques for identifying leucocytes, immature germ cells and morphology
- Process semen for ART procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs)
- Perform semen cryopreservation
- Assure proper sample collection, delivery and identification (chain of custody)
- Perform daily/monthly quality control procedures for media and equipment used in the Andrology/Endocrine laboratory
- Assist laboratory personnel in performing lab services in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and guidelines to ensure laboratory maintains accreditation
- Check and record daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents
- Perform quality controls, calibration and instrument preventive maintenance checks as required and document such actions
- Monitor supply of reagents and other material to ensure adequate supply and order supplies when necessary
- B.S. in Biology or other relevant science and/or MLT ASCP
- Minimum of one year laboratory experience
- Experience with a chemistry analyzer strongly preferred
- Tissue culture experience (sterile technique) and/or semen processing a plus
