Safety Manager – Commercial Data Center Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team and oversee safety operations at our commercial data center. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well‑being of all personnel, contractors, and visitors while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to safety management, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to foster a culture of safety excellence.

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to the commercial data center environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide safety training and education to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate safety considerations into operational planning and decision‑making.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of safety‑related matters.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within a commercial or data center environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective safety measures.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
• Exceptional problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

• Conduct daily walkthroughs of the data center to ensure compliance with safety protocols and identify potential hazards.
• Facilitate safety briefings and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
• Review and approve safety plans for ongoing projects and maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to safety incidents, providing guidance and support to affected personnel.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address safety concerns during construction or operational changes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the data center remains compliant and adopts best practices.
• Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management.
