Overview
The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field‑based role providing education and reimbursement support to adult and pediatric patients and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as primary point of contact for education on disease state, company products, and therapy access/administration.
- Develop and maintain relationships via in‑person and virtual interactions.
- Assess individual patient needs and create an action plan using approved resources.
- Provide individualized disease state and product education using approved resources.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and the process for obtaining therapy.
- Conduct medication administration education once coverage is established.
- Provide information on affordability resources as needed.
- Manage long‑term relationships with patients and care teams via tailored communication plans.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional internal teams as needed.
- Partner with Patient Advocacy; attend patient education symposia as needed.
- Partner with Patient Safety/PV and Complaint Management/Quality/Compliance to report AEs and product complaints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Up to 50% travel (including overnight and some weekend travel), including patient‑home visits.
- Bachelor’s degree + 5+ years in direct patient support role; ability to explain disease state, product, and access/reimbursement concepts at a consumer level.
- Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure preferred; 5+ years clinical experience in pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related.
- 2+ years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Experience with orphan/rare disease product launches preferred.
- Experience educating patients/caregivers on injectable administration.
- Experience navigating reimbursement obstacles.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG compliance guidelines.
- Ability to work autonomously and communicate with cross‑functional partners; adapt to evolving needs; excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication.

Annual base salary: $185,000–$190,000.
