Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician performs a variety of technical tasks in support of scientific research, including preparing experiments, managing laboratory equipment, and analyzing data. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to ensure accurate and reliable results in research projects.
Responsibilities- Prepare and process laboratory samples
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Maintain files and records
- Prepare for laboratory media/equipment demonstrations
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma.

Required Qualifications:
Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on‑site daily service delivery hours; degree or two years college coursework (due years client shift schedules, project requirements).
Required Experience: Two years of job‑related experience.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Educational
Qualifications:
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college coursework.
Preferred Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a laboratory animal facility or AALAS certification as Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT), Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT), or Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG); experience with aquatic animal husbandry and spawning.
Additional Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull heavy loads; must have a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record; applicants must NOT own rodents at home nor reptiles that consume rodents.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesSkills: Basic science background and basic knowledge of laboratory test procedures and equipment usage.

Anticipated hourly range of $22.00 to $29.10 will be commensurate with qualifications.
