We are a leading Tier 1 worldwide supplier to the major automotive, engine, and heavy equipment manufacturers of on-highway and off-highway vehicles. We have continuously engaged in the expert design, development, and manufacturing of metal bellows and specialized tubular assemblies. We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our team.
SUMMARYResponsible for providing leadership and establishing and implementing quality management strategy to go along with overall business plans and objectives.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Establish and manage the IATF 16949 compliant procedures for the Quality Management System.
- IATF Certification knowledge is required.
- Manage the quality department.
- Act as company quality representative when interacting with suppliers and customers.
- Work with the product team to establish proper quality methods.
- Act as the primary contact for internal and external quality communications.
- Lead problem solving efforts and manage the corrective action process.
- Define and track Customer Satisfaction Metrics.
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) including processes, controls and work instructions.
- Support Continuous Improvement throughout the plant including training, documentation and quality control.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Ability to interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate with supervisor and coworkers.
- Good understanding of shop math including fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- 5 to 15 years of experience in a quality function in automotive Tier 1 and/or Tier 2
- ISO/TS 16949 certification experience a must
- Working knowledge of: 8D, Six Sigma, Red X, MMOG
- Customer and Supplier interface to resolve quality issues
