Quality Engineer

This isn't a back-office quality role. It's an opportunity to directly influence the products customers bring into their homes — from supplier selection and testing protocols to product performance and long-term customer satisfaction. As a Quality Engineer, you'll partner across merchandising, sourcing, supply chain, and suppliers to solve problems before they reach the customer, improve product performance, and help drive smarter business decisions across a fast-growing retail organization.

You'll own categories, influence supplier strategy, and create systems that improve quality, reduce claims, and strengthen the business at scale.

Your Day Consists Of
  • Partnering with suppliers, merchants, and sourcing teams to ensure products meet quality, safety, and performance standards before launch
  • Creating and managing testing protocols, inspections, scorecards, and quality documentation across assigned product categories
  • Investigating field quality issues, leading root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions that prevent repeat problems
  • Evaluating supplier performance data and identifying opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and operational efficiency
  • Coordinating product testing, factory audits, certifications, and inspections with third-party partners and global vendors
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Legal, Inventory Management, and Merchandising to proactively solve quality challenges
You'll Be Successful With
  • Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, retail quality, or product testing environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across teams, suppliers, and external partners
  • An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and confidence working through complex product or process issues
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and collaboration matters
  • A degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or another technical field preferred
  • Experience with flooring, hardlines, manufacturing, or retail product categories is highly valued

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a Technical Field preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience (preferably in Retail or Manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics preferred
  • Understanding of statistical methods, quality tools and methodologies preferred
  • Supplier Quality background and experience preferred
  • Must be analytical, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Possess good process experience, judgment, and the ability to recognize key problems
  • A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within the company, as well as globally with suppliers and 3rd party firms. Strong collaboration skills with both local and international teams.
  • Experience working with international vendors preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work independently, within a team across all levels and diverse cultures, and the ability to lead team projects
  • Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Suite skills (especially Excel)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop internal and external communications including FAQs, associate training materials, and supplier communications
  • Develop and manage policies and standard operating procedures (SOP) relating to quality assurance
  • Possess the enhanced process experience/judgment and the ability to recognize key problems before they become major issues. Capable of recognizing opportunities that translate to bottom-line improvement.
  • Monitor supplier performance and alert stakeholders of any non-compliance, respond promptly to detected offenses, develop corrective action plans and report findings via established channels
  • Utilize scorecards to track key vendor and 3rd party service provider performance metrics
  • Onboard new suppliers in accordance with F&D policies and procedures
