Job Overview
Quality Technician (3rd Shift) – Atlanta, GA (College Park plant). At Sibelco, responsible for ensuring product meets customer, regulatory, ISO standards and uniform quality practices. Works within the Sibelco Quality System and helps maintain operational quality.
Responsibilities- Actively utilize and support the Sibelco Quality System in daily operations.
- Participate in the implementation of a uniform Quality Assurance framework within the country and region.
- Ensure products and services meet or exceed customer and ISO requirements.
- Execute internal quality audits and ensure accurate data is captured in all relevant systems.
- Implement simple, effective quality registration, reporting, and follow‑up processes.
- Perform plant quality checks in accordance with Sibelco Quality Procedures.
- Conduct and document in-process cullet sampling per SOPs; incoming and outgoing load inspections.
- Observe production line activities to verify correct sampling and testing methods.
- Track quality performance, identify gaps, contain non‑conforming materials, and initiate improvement actions.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment performance supports optimal product quality.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality‑related role; audit experience strongly preferred.
- Practical understanding of the industrial minerals or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality control, testing, auditing, and improvement processes.
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, test methods, and data.
- Experience operating quality and laboratory equipment such as inspection tables, ovens, and scales.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to influence quality culture.
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Outlook, data entry).
- Color vision required.
