Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector – Nashville, TN
TTL is seeking an NDT Inspector to join our team in Nashville, TN. In this role you will perform visual inspections, nondestructive testing, and coating inspections to ensure structural welds, steel, and bolted connections meet applicable standards. You will prepare daily inspection reports and communicate findings to clients with accuracy and professionalism.
What You'll Do- Perform visual inspections (VT) of structural welds to ensure conformity with applicable standards. AWS Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus.
- Conduct nondestructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT) methods.
- Inspect coating and ensure compliance with applicable specifications and industry standards.
- Inspect structural steel and bolted connections per applicable codes.
- Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations and documentation, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and communicate findings to clients in a timely and professional manner while operating with moderate supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in reading drawings, plans, and blueprints.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights.
- Stamina to work outdoors in hot and cold environments.
- Current AWS CWI Certification preferred.
- Structural steel experience required.
- ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification.
- Experience observing structural steel bolting and welded connections.
- Knowledge of special inspections and tracking of inspected items and discrepancies.
- Ability to explain and interpret code and/or quality control requirements.
