Your ImpactThe Safety Technician supports the implementation and monitoring of company safety policies and procedures under the direction of the Safety Manager or Regional Safety Manager. This role focuses on assisting in jobsite inspections, safety documentation, training coordination, and compliance activities across projects.
Key Responsibilities- Support the promotion of a strong safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and communicating safety expectations to all employees.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring safety programs and initiatives in coordination with the Safety Manager and Safety Coordinator.
- Conduct routine job site safety inspections to identify hazards, ensure proper use of PPE, and verify compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions or practices and support immediate corrective actions when hazards are observed.
- Help maintain and inspect safety equipment and PPE to ensure availability and functionality.
- Maintain and organize safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and related documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations by gathering information, photos, and statements, and assisting in reporting procedures.
- Assist in coordinating and tracking employee safety training requirements and certifications.
- Support the administration of the company’s Substance Abuse Policy and Safety Recognition Program.
- Participate in toolbox talks, job safety analysis (JSAs), and other safety-related meetings as assigned.
- Assist in the implementation of all other safety related initiatives as directed
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- 1-2 years of construction-related experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn safety software.
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently in the field.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
- OSHA 510 Certification
- STS-C, CHST, or other recognized safety certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
