JOB DESCRIPTION
- Implement HACCP Program
- Implement food safety programs including:
Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Metal Detection, Pest Control, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Hygiene, Chemical Control, Receiving Documentation - Implement Halperns' Programs (Portion Cut and Food Security)
- Monitor daily cleanup and cleanup related procedures and programs
- Monitor daily pre-operational inspection
- Assist QA Manager in employee training (GMP, Sanitation & HACCP)
- Assist QA Manager in Recall and Traceability Programs
- Implement environmental testing programs
- Other responsibilities as requested
KNOWLEDGE
- Basic knowledge of food safety policies including HACCP, SSOP's, GMP's and USDA – FSIS regulations.
- Basic understanding of implementing product and equipment hold and release procedures as well as a working knowledge of product recalls.
- Understanding and experience in microbiological testing of plant equipment and environment.
- Background in developing and implementing plant procedures.
ABILITIES/ SKILLS
- Excellent computer (MS WORD, Excel), written, problem solving and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively staff and manage relevant personnel and functions pertinent to plant quality assurance and food safety.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years experience working with quality systems documentation & administration in a USDA – FSIS inspected facility.
- Some knowledge of meat processing and meat processing equipment and simple laboratory testing procedures.
- Seeking a mature individual capable of interaction with plant hourly employees.
