Director of Food Safety & Quality(Aviation Catering)

The Director of Food Safety & Quality is responsible for leading all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, and compliance programs across aviation catering manufacturing operations. This role ensures that products consistently meet regulatory standards, customer expectations, and company quality objectives, while driving continuous improvement initiatives in food manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Leadership — Direct and oversee food safety and quality programs across multiple facilities.
  • Regulatory Compliance — Ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, SQF, and GFSI standards.
  • Food Safety Programs — Manage HACCP plans, allergen control, sanitation, and preventive controls.
  • Audit Management — Lead internal, customer, and third‑party audits; implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement — Drive initiatives to reduce non‑conformance, improve processes, and enhance product integrity.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Partner with Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain to align quality standards with production goals.
  • Training & Development — Mentor and train QA teams on food safety, GMPs, and compliance requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring — Develop and track KPIs for product quality, audit readiness, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in food quality, safety, or regulatory compliance, with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, FSMA, USDA, FDA, and GFSI programs.
  • Proven ability to lead audits, manage corrective actions, and maintain certification programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/QA systems, and quality documentation tools.
