We Search People are happily working with a investment and development company that has a diverse portfolio of more than 15 million square feet of retail, industrial, residential, mixed-use, hotel, and office space across the region, particularly in and around the Atlanta market.

Position Overview

The Development Associate is a key contributor to the real estate development team, supporting all phases of the development lifecycle from initial site evaluation through project completion and closing. This role works closely with senior development leadership and collaborates across design, construction, finance, and acquisitions teams to help deliver high-quality housing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support senior development team members throughout the full project development lifecycle, including site selection, feasibility studies, financing efforts, due diligience, procurement, entitlements, permitting, construction coordination, and project closeout.
  • Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities under the guidance of senior development and acquisitions professionals.
  • Research and analyze zoning ordinances, land use regulations, entitlement procedures, building permits, and required public approvals.
  • Conduct pre-development analyses such as market rent and income trends, construction and operating costs, occupancy levels, and utility considerations.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and development schedules, including critical path timelines.
  • Solicit, review, and compare proposals for professional and technical services, including surveys, geotechnical investigations, market studies, appraisals, environmental assessments, and specialty engineering.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts and manage closing documentation and checklists with lenders and financial partners.
  • Maintain project tracking tools, reporting systems, and internal databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
