College/Department InformationThe Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine houses several research cores, including a state‑of‑the‑art microscopy facility with multiphoton, N‑STORM, light‑sheet, and imaging flow cytometry instrumentation.
Job SummaryProvide advanced scientific, technical, and administrative support in the Wang laboratory. Engage in research data collection, develop new techniques, maintain laboratory equipment, supervise lab personnel, and perform complex experiments in cell and molecular biology, animal testing, and imaging.
Responsibilities- Participate in project planning, develop research protocols, and ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
- Perform cell, molecular, animal behavioral, genotyping, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence experiments; analyze data using confocal and brightfield imaging; develop computer programs for analysis.
- Maintain mouse colonies, coordinate strains and inventory, and perform mouse treatment and testing.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel; advise the PI and postdocs on techniques and procedures.
- Manage continuous lab operations, order supplies and animals, track costs and inventory, and update related spreadsheets.
- Master’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field plus experience in basic or clinical laboratory research; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of research and/or clinical experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software/databases or willingness to learn.
SkillsExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
AbilitiesMaintain confidentiality and work with research animals.
Shift / Salary / BenefitsShift: Days;
Monday – Friday (outside normal business hours may be required).
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint).
This position is funded through external sources and continued employment is contingent upon funding availability.
