* POSITION SUMMARY:

** The Research Director will be responsible for leveraging Transwestern’s vast resources to support and provide innovative insights to leadership, internal and external clients. The role will interpret both internal and external client needs, procure solutions and influence decisions, presenting informative findings across various property types and investment strategies. The director will ensure operational excellence and best-in-class standards relating to methodology and application.

* ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

*** Continuously maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the local commercial real estate market.
* Serve as a market expert with the ability to communicate this expertise through both presentation and writing.
* Analyze economic, demographic, and commercial real estate data to identify unique insights on market activity, conditions and trends to maintain competitive advantage.
* Perform strategic real estate market analysis including evaluation of competitors locations, acquisitions strategy, sales volumes, and other relevant information.
* Author local thought leadership pieces on trending topics that drive business for internal and external clients.
* Collaborate with the local marketing, and graphic design teams to provide research insights that support business development for our clients.
* Build relationships with the local market’s brokerage teams to best understand their research needs and how best to respond with deliverables.
* Provide state of the market presentations to clients as needed.
* Develop and leverage relationships with research peers and experts externally in the local real estate community to exchange information and learn about industry trends.
* Manage and maintain accuracy on internal commercial real estate metrics through Curve Analytics, Transwestern’s proprietary data platform.
* Utilize Curve Analytics to run and report quarterly market statistics.
* Perform or assume additional department duties as assigned.
** POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*** Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field.
* Advanced education preferred.
* Professional designations preferred.
* 8+ years minimum experience in commercial real estate research and/or analytics.
* Proven understanding of commercial real estate and/or capital markets metrics.
* Expert in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Deep familiarity with common data vendors, such as Real Capital Analytics, Real Page, Zoom Info, Revista, Pitchbook, and CoStar.
* Proficiency in ESRI Suite, ArcGIS, Power
