Job

Assist research involving transgenic mouse models to study Alzheimer’s disease, neuropsychiatric conditions, and microbiome interactions.

• Assist research involving transgenic mouse models (e.g., feeding special diets, administering pharmacological drugs to mice, weighting mice, animal behavior tests).
• Collect specimens (e.g., brain, fecal samples) and maintain organized sample collection and processing logs.
• Assist sample processing by microtome/cryostat sectioning.
• Assist and maintain mouse breeding colonies and genotyping.
• Perform molecular biology experiments such as qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting, microscopy, and statistical analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, supplemented by two years of college-level work in the physical and/or biological sciences.
• Considerable experience in performing diagnostic laboratory tests and examinations in a specialized area.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
