Job SummaryAssist research involving transgenic mouse models to study Alzheimer’s disease, neuropsychiatric conditions, and microbiome interactions.
Responsibilities- Assist research involving transgenic mouse models (e.g., feeding special diets, administering pharmacological drugs to mice, weighting mice, animal behavior tests).
- Collect specimens (e.g., brain, fecal samples) and maintain organized sample collection and processing logs.
- Assist sample processing by microtome/cryostat sectioning.
- Assist and maintain mouse breeding colonies and genotyping.
- Perform molecular biology experiments such as qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting, microscopy, and statistical analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, supplemented by two years of college-level work in the physical and/or biological sciences.
- Considerable experience in performing diagnostic laboratory tests and examinations in a specialized area.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
