CHF Research is an Atlanta-based technology company building rigorous measurement and learning infrastructure. Our work sits at the intersection of cognitive and behavioral science, quantitative methods, and applied research—translating how people learn and reason into measures that remain reliable under real-world conditions.
About the roleWe are hiring a Research Scientist to help design, validate, and stress-test quantitative measures of human learning, cognition, and behavior. This is a technical, research-driven position for someone with strong training in neuroscience or a closely related discipline who wants to apply experimental rigor and quantitative methods to problems with real impact. We hire at multiple levels and evaluate candidates on demonstrated ability rather than years of experience.
Responsibilities- Design and conduct studies of human learning, cognition, and behavior using sound experimental methods.
- Develop and validate quantitative measures derived from behavioral and cognitive data.
- Apply statistical and computational methods to assess measurement reliability, validity, and robustness.
- Investigate how measures can fail, degrade, or be manipulated, and develop safeguards against those failure modes.
- Document methods and findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in neuroscience or a closely related field—such as cognitive science, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, biomedical engineering, or a quantitative discipline with a focus on cognition or behavior.
- A strong foundation in experimental design, quantitative reasoning, and data interpretation.
- The ability to evaluate whether a conclusion is supported by the underlying evidence, paired with clear written communication.
- Located in, or willing to relocate to, the Atlanta area.
- Proficiency in Python or R, or a demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly.
- Coursework or research experience in statistics, computational modeling, or signal processing.
- Hands‑on experience with human‑subjects research, behavioral experimentation, or psycho-physiological methods such as EEG.
- Competitive compensation of $120,000.
- Meaningful ownership and rapid professional growth within an early‑stage company.
- A collaborative, technically rigorous research environment in Atlanta.
