OverviewThe Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) is a new initiative of the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. It brings together biomedical researchers to exploit the immune system for the treatment of diseases affecting Georgia and the United States. The center focuses on cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic disorders, autoimmune and infectious disease, neurodegenerative disease, and cancer.

The laboratory applies in‑silico, in‑vitro, and in‑vivo methods to unravel the genetics of cardiovascular diseases. The group uses large datasets and is actively involved in national and international collaborations such as CARDIoGRAMplusC4D and Leducq.
Responsibilities- Bioinformatics:
Command of computational biology techniques. - Experiments:
Application of GWAS, molecular QTL, precision medicine, single‑cell RNA‑seq and ATAC‑seq, and single‑cell CRISPR screening. - Genetics:
Study of the genetics and biology of cardiovascular diseases. - Collaboration:
Work with computational and wet‑lab biologists to elucidate mechanisms. - Presenting:
Prepare written and oral presentations for the team and the public. - Mentor:
Supervise staff and students. - Organize Data:
Maintain and organize large amounts of genetic data and summary statistics. - Other:
Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Ph.D. or equivalent in computational biology.
- Experience with cardiovascular genomics preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to complete work and meet deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to work with research animals.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Shift: Days, Monday‑Friday; work outside standard hours may be required.
