The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine invites applications for a Limited Term (1 yr) Research Technician. The Technician will work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to support ongoing research projects in the Stanley Lab, focusing on neural circuitry and neurotechnology.

• Gather, compile, and summarize data from assigned scientific experiments.
• Collect and prepare biological samples for analysis, including animal behavior and histology work.
• Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
• Operate research equipment and support instrument maintenance.
• Assist with fiber photometry, data analysis, and closed‑loop optogenetic experimentation.
• Conduct mouse behavioral training and perform histological analysis.
• Support lab operations and manage basic lab administrative tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Technical Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or equivalent education and experience.
• One to two years of related research or laboratory experience.
• Preferred: BS/MS in neuroscience, biology, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in animal behavior, surgery, wet‑lab techniques, and histogram processing.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Python and basic statistical software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Salary:
  Approximately $44,000.00, commensurate with experience.
• Job Grade: R01
• Not a supervisory position; no financial responsibilities or travel required.
• Position does not require driving, a purchasing card, security clearance, or a position of trust.
