Lab Tech / Assistant, Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Overview
Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory, including performing analyses, setup, operation, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment, and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will interact consistently with academic and/or research faculty members, staff, and students, and will typically advise and counsel lab users.
Responsibilities- Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.
- Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.
- Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
- May clean instruments, glassware, and other lab equipment.
- Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Document four labs (1,2,3,4) offered during the Fall of 2026.
- Address student feedback collected via CIOS.
- Address student feedback collected via Piazza posts.
- Fix bugs in labs.
- Train new TAs on how to release labs via Grade scope.
- High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma.
- Up to two years of job related experience.
- MSCS degree required.
- 1‑2 years of experience working directly on LLM inference efficiency.
- 2‑3 years of experience in C++ and Python.
- Experience with software project management tools and Claude.
- Code integration experience required.
FLSA status:
Non‑Exempt. Hourly Pay Range: $0.00 – $35.00.
Working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to the assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications are required.
