The STEEL is directed by Prof. Shannon Yee, that focuses on developing thermal energy conversion technologies. The primary area of research is around cutting edge university problem-driven research that improves the human condition.

The STEEL invites applications for research faculty positions as Senior Research Engineer or Scientist. The primary research responsibilities of the faculty shall be program management and execution of large cutting edge university problem-driven research. The initial assignment for this position will be under the supervision of Prof. Shannon Yee.
This position vacancy is an open title/rank announcement. Final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Research Faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.1 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).)
Responsibilities- Creating proposals, work scopes, and applying for federal, industry, and philanthropic projects.
- Managing and executing the work scope of active federal agency, industry, and philanthropic projects, including interfacing with program managers and collaborators, creating and delivering high-quality presentations and reports.
- Mentoring undergraduate researchers, graduate student researchers, and postdocs.
- Working with professors across Georgia Tech in delivering on the work scopes.
- Authoring progress reports, and final deliverables for sponsored projects.
- Fostering research collaborations within and external to Georgia Tech.
A Doctoral degree in science/engineering or related field, and four (4) years of relevant research experience after completion of a bachelor's degree
Preferred QualificationsPh.D. degree is preferred for Research Engineer or a Research Scientist title.
