The Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience's mission (IBB, (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is to build a community across Georgia Tech and its partner institutions that catalyzes, cultivates, and deploys interdisciplinary research and education in bioengineering and biosciences for economic and societal benefit. This position is part of IBB's Molecular Evolution Core Laboratory ().
Job SummaryThe Research Technician is responsible for supporting scientific research projects by conducting experiments, collecting data, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. This position requires a strong understanding of research methodologies and protocols, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers and contribute to the advancement of knowledge within the field.

Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related databases. - Job Duty 3:
Operate or advise in the operation various equipment used in research studies. - Job Duty 4:
Investigate and propose alternative experiment procedures. - Job Duty 5:
Participate as directed in experiment design and preparation. - Job Duty 6:
Participate as directed in preparation of presentations and manuscripts. - Job Duty 7:
Train in laboratory processes and proper use of laboratory equipment. - Job Duty 8:
Perform other duties as assigned
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required Experience: Two to three years of job related experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture using aseptic technique, including experience working with primary cells, immune cells, tissue-derived cell suspensions, or other challenging mammalian sample types, and assessing cell concentration, viability, aggregation, debris, and overall sample quality.
- Experience with 10x Genomics Chromium workflows or other single-cell sequencing technologies, including preparation of mammalian cell suspensions for single-cell capture and/or preparation of single-cell or RNA-seq libraries.
