The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Job Description As a User Researcher II, you will independently plan and execute mixed methods studies across a product area. You will demonstrate skilled proficiency in interviewing, usability testing, surveys, task analysis, concept testing, and journey mapping. You will manage research logistics end-to-end, analyze both qualitative and quantitative inputs, and deliver actionable insights that influence product and design decisions. User Researchers at this level operate with growing autonomy, use agentic AI to accelerate analysis and synthesis, and work closely with Research Ops to ensure compliance, quality, and effective reuse of insights.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Define research plans with goals, hypotheses, method rationale, sampling strategy, recruitment approach, and timelines.
  • Conduct interviews, usability tests, concept and desirability evaluations, remote unmoderated tests, card sorts, tree tests, and structured surveys.
  • Design and deploy surveys, analyze quantitative data, and interpret results.
  • Map user tasks and workflows to identify friction, motivations, and opportunities.
  • Develop personas and journey maps based on collected research.
  • Recruit participants in conjunction with Research Ops through multiple channels, ensuring diversity and representation.
  • Apply agentic AI to cluster qualitative data, summarize sessions, and accelerate analysis.
  • Synthesize multi-method insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Create compelling research readouts for cross-functional partners and collaborate closely with designers and PMs to incorporate findings into decisions.
  • Contribute to repository hygiene through tagging, structuring, and maintaining past insights.
  • Track research progress, risks, and dependencies using standard workflows.
  • Support stakeholder alignment discussions with evidence driven arguments.
  • Conduct post-study evaluations to improve future research.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in and 2 years' experience in a related field.
  • The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field.
  • Skilled proficiency in a range of methods, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and task analysis.
  • Strong ability to conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience with remote research tools and survey platforms (e.g., User Testing, Qualtrics, Figma, SharePoint).
  • Ability to independently manage research projects and logistics.
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator with strong communication skills.
  • Experience distilling complex findings into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Skilled in developing personas, journey maps, and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of human behavior, motivation, and decision-making.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools or interpreting behavioral data.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools for synthesis and insight acceleration.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Balances multiple research efforts concurrently with minimal oversight.
  • Use of general purpose LLM tools to analyze and synthesize user behavior, identify patterns, and prioritize opportunities.
  • Use AI to accelerate discovery, experimentation, development, and recommend improvements throughout the product design process.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of applied UX research experience.

May require periodic travel for on-site testing or field studies.
