Lead Research Specialist – Pharmacology

• Conduct molecular biology and animal study experiments
• Perform specialized and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures under minimal supervision
• Apply or adapt scientific techniques using independent judgment
• Assist with protocol design
• Investigate and propose alternative experimental procedures for consideration by a principal investigator
• Assist in planning and scheduling research procedures
• Analyze and interpret study results
• Demonstrate and train others in laboratory techniques and equipment operation
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine repair and maintenance of equipment
• Review literature for related research developments and techniques and compile findings
• Monitor laboratory processes to maintain quality assurance standards
• Record study results, compile and analyze data, and prepare charts and graphs
• Monitor handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances
• Perform related responsibilities as required

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and two years of research experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
• Experience and expertise in molecular biology and animal study
• Ability to perform specialized and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures
• Ability to apply or adapt scientific techniques using independent judgment
• Ability to assist with protocol design and propose alternative experimental procedures
• Ability to plan and schedule research procedures
• Ability to analyze and interpret study results
• Ability to demonstrate and train others in laboratory techniques and equipment operation
• Ability to calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine repair and maintenance of equipment
• Ability to review scientific literature and compile findings
• Ability to monitor laboratory processes for quality assurance

• May be required to work with, take precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents

Demonstrates expertise in molecular biology and animal study research, with strong capabilities in experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques. Proficient in maintaining quality assurance standards and training others in equipment operation.
