Areas of responsibility include animal research, clinical/trial research, grants & contract administration, laboratory research, research program administration, and research support. Activities include developing, implementing, evaluating, and administering a wide variety of research initiatives and securing grants, contributing to the advancement of scientific understanding and the improvement of various fields that align with the mission of the Institute.

Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Fellow will independently conduct cutting edge research in bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, genomics, and bioinformatics. This position offers advanced training in experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and grant preparation while contributing to high-impact research addressing critical public health challenges.

• Lead design, development, and execution of complex research studies in bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, genomics, and bioinformatics.
• Develop and refine experimental protocols and methodologies; conduct in vitro/in vivo antibacterial studies in BSL
  -2/ BSL
  -3 facilities.
• Analyze and interpret data using advanced statistical methods, bioinformatics tools, and computational approaches including programming languages and machine learning.
• Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals; present findings at conferences; prepare reports and technical documentation.
• Mentor graduate students, undergraduate researchers, and laboratory staff; provide training on techniques, protocols, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams; contribute to grant writing and funding proposals under PI supervision.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Comprehensive knowledge of microbiological principles, antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, and bacterial genomics.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques ( PCR , cloning, sequencing, gene expression analysis).
• Strong understanding of experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific research methodology.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills; ability to prepare manuscripts, grants, and technical reports.
