The Center for Microbial Pathogenesis conducts research focused on understanding the mechanisms of microbial infection and disease and advancing knowledge that contributes to improved human health.
The Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Technician I.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are below:
- Order, receive, organize, and maintain laboratory supplies and materials to support ongoing research activities and ensure laboratory operations are adequately supplied.
- Operate computerized data collection and laboratory systems to support research activities, maintain accurate records, and document experimental results.
- Record, organize, and maintain accurate experimental data and research results for analysis, documentation, and reporting purposes.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of research-related documentation, including grant applications, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) applications, and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications.
- Clean, organize, and maintain laboratory areas, equipment, and work spaces to support a safe, orderly, and efficient research environment.

Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other natural science area, or a combination of education and related experience. Previous experience with behavioral techniques desired but not mandatory.
- Previous laboratory research experience and familiarity with laboratory procedures, data collection, and research documentation are preferred.
- Experience working with laboratory animals and/or behavioral research techniques is also preferred.
